In the Wet Tropics of Queensland, we typically experience two seasons—Wet (October to April) and Dry (May to September). However, nature doesn’t always follow the rules. Rain can fall in the Dry Season, and dry spells can occur during the Wet, with seasonal patterns becoming increasingly unpredictable.

The good news? There’s always something incredible to see.

Wildlife activity shifts throughout the year, and each tour is carefully adapted to suit the conditions, maximising your chances of memorable encounters. Frogs can be found year-round, but they truly thrive during the Wet Season. Fungi also appear throughout the year, with their greatest diversity emerging in wetter months.

During the Dry Season, we often encounter species such as Short-beaked Echidna, Striped Possum, Papuan Frogmouth, Fireback Huntsman, along with a rich variety of insects and spiders.
