A leisurely stroll in tropical paradise, the Cairns Botanic Gardens. We will share with you several bug-hubs that hides the most elusive beauties! See and photograph a huge variety of weird and wonderful insects, a myriad of spiders, fungi and a host of many other tiny creatures that are hidden in the undergrowth.
Join renowned macro photographer Bridgette for a personalised, highly specified tour of the gardens and the treasures waiting to be discovered.
The tour will introduce you to Australia’s largest butterfly and caterpillar, the Cairns Birdwing. You will also see many other colourful insects and spiders including Australia’s first spider, the Northern Jewelled Orbweaver and a recently discovered Lacebug nicknamed ‘The Midgey Bridgey’.
If you are bringing your own camera, we can help you with your camera settings and composition ideas, techniques, and suggestions for capturing amazing images of the critters that we encounter.
