India Wildlife Safari – Nature Lovers Extravaganza!

‘An epic adventure for nature lovers’

This is the opportunity of a lifetime to see incredible wild animals living free in the myriad of habitats in the Western Ghats. We will cover 2000 kilometres across various ecosystems and seeing a wide variety of mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects, spiders, gastropods, fungi and myriapods.

The Western Ghats region is a biodiversity hotspot. It contains a large number of different species of flora and fauna, most of which are endemic to this region. At least 325 globally threatened species occur in the Western Ghats. The region was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012. Also called the Sahyadri, this ancient mountain range is the eighth most bio-diverse region on earth.

Now in its third year, the NEW and improved Itinerary now takes us to Tadoba in Central India to explore India’s BEST Tiger Reserve with the highest chance to see Tigers.

This itinerary has been adapted over the years from experience and is carefully planned to give you the best opportunity to see abundant wildlife, but also allows flexibility to be spontaneous within the schedule. There could be a number of opportunities to seek out passing Elephant herds, Samba Deer, Serpent Eagles (to name a few) as we travel on our journey.

Our local guide Hadlee is an experienced naturalist with a wealth of local knowledge and spotting skills. He has extensive field experience and well connected with “people in the know”. This increases our chances to see the most elusive wildlife.

Whist there are excellent chances to see wildlife, sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Who is this Tour For?

Nature lovers, adventure travel seekers, fit and able bodied, photographers and photography enthusiasts, lovers of curry, twitchers, tree huggers, herpers and bugs nerds!

This Tour is NOT For?

If you want guaranteed sightings, go to a zoo, but if you crave real encounters in their native habitat and you get that fuzzy buzzy feeling. This is the tour for you!  If you have physical issues that cause discomfort travelling in FWDs/Jeeps/Minibus on some challenging roads, this tour is probably not for you.  If you struggle with spicy food, fair warning, sometimes there are no options.

Giving Back – Our Conservation Pledge2026-04-15T23:59:11+00:00

Munnar’s shola forests, interspersed with tea, cardamom, and coffee plantations, host several critically endangered frog species. However, habitat-disturbing practices and pesticide use, fuelled by local myths, have led to a decline in many of the species’ populations.

To address this, Hadlee and his team at Resplendent Experiences focused on conserving these frogs at Windermere Cardamom Plantation. They constructed water habitats (WHs) tailored for frog breeding, using native plants like wild turmeric and ferns to recreate suitable nesting environments. Their efforts proved successful, with frogs adapting to the habitats.

The team has demonstrated that even small initiatives can have a substantial impact on conservation efforts. The project has heightened awareness about the presence of various endemic frog species in Munnar. By raising awareness and educating the public about the importance of these often-overlooked species, the team has fostered a sense of responsibility and care for the natural world among the local community and beyond. Their dedication to the cause has inspired others to join the movement, further strengthening the efforts to protect and conserve the unique biodiversity of Munnar.

A percentage of profits from each Safari is donated to Resplendent Experiences to produce some more of these Frog Ponds in some suitable areas to assist with the conservation of the many vulnerable frogs.

“My safari trip with Bridgette from ‘Let’s go Buggin’ to the Western Ghats, India was an unforgettable adventure! The entire experience was well organised, with an itinerary that allowed us to explore the incredible biodiversity of this region. Our local guide was exceptional—knowledgeable, friendly, and deeply passionate about the area, which added so much to the journey. We saw an amazing variety of animals including tiger, leopard, elephants and monkeys; also lots of birds, frogs, insects and reptiles. Each day brought something new and a deep appreciation for the rich ecosystems of the Western Ghats. I highly recommend this trip!”  Josie, Australia

“Exploring the Western Ghats with Bridgette and Hadlee was the hands-down best trip of my life. I was already expecting to have an amazing time exploring the Indian wildlife, but the two of them being such fun and interesting people, combined with their knowledge of the natural world, photography skills, and willingness to share that knowledge, completely exceeded my expectations. The accommodations were great!  Full bathrooms, comfortable beds, and good food. I always felt safe, whether it was walking around the more urban towns (I loved that the trip didn’t include large cities), or herping/bugging at night in the rainforest or on the side of the road. The people there were so welcoming and friendly. The biodiversity is absolutely INSANE! And the fact that we got really lucky finding all the different species means that I came back with SO many amazing photos of elephants, tiger, leopard, frogs with the *coolest* eyes, very charismatic monkeys, snakes, bugs, guar and other ungulates, mongoose, giant squirrel, peacocks, and so many pretty colorful birds!! The landscapes were gorgeous as well; one evening we went out driving around the tea plantation along with one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever witnessed. I HIGHLY recommend this trip. Go into it with positive vibes and you’re bound to have an adventure of a lifetime.”  Jenn, U.S.A.

“I had an unforgettable trip to South India with Bridgette exploring the stunning Western Ghats. An experience that brought me up close to the region’s incredible wildlife, including nilgiri tahr, elephants, tigers, leopards, monkeys, a variety of birds, reptiles and insects. Witnessing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitats was both thrilling and deeply enriching.

The trip was well organised and Bridgette was exceptional. Her wealth of knowledge and passion made the experience even more special. She ensured every aspect of the trip ran smoothly, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the wonders of nature.

I truly appreciate the effort and dedication Bridgette put into making this trip such a success. I left not only with incredible photographs but also a newfound understanding and respect for this unique ecosystem. I highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in wildlife, birding, macro photography even landscape and experiencing the beauty of the Western Ghats.”  Steve, Australia

“Every wildlife photographer knows the biggest challenge is actually finding the wildlife in the first place. Sometimes you don’t ever find it, but that sure wasn’t a problem on this adventure! The only problem I ran into is not having enough hands and eyes to photograph it all! From trilobite beetles to tigers the biodiversity of this region was amazing, easily rivalling any safari you could find in Africa. Between Bridgette and Hadlee you never had a second without something interesting to look at and learn about. However, where these two made the biggest difference for me was having such experienced guidance in how to light, frame, and capture all the various insects and reptiles we saw. I used to regularly be disappointed with how my shots came out, but not on this trip! If you want to experience some of the world’s best wildlife, AND have pros at your back to help you find and capture it, this trip is for you.”  Dan, U.S.A.

“I had heard good things from people I knew on Instagram about Bridgette’s trips so I decided to take the plunge and go with her tour to India. I have to admit to not being a very adventurous person, so it was with some trepidation that I set out. However, this trip exceeded my expectations and was in fact a life changing experience for me – because it taught me that I shouldn’t let myself be hampered by ‘what ifs’ but just go and do it!  Bridgette’s experience, and tremendous organisational and managing skills made for a very smooth running trip. She was great fun to hang out with, had amazing enthusiasm for everything we saw and a phenomenal ability to locate both arthropods and larger animals. She made a formidable team with our local guide Hadlee who was also wonderful – nothing was too difficult for him. He was endlessly patient in finding amazing things for us and then assisting us in photographing them as well as explaining aspects of the local culture to us! Plus our bus driver Shibu was a total delight and frankly the best driver I’ve ever seen in action in my life. Each location on the trip was delightful in its own way. The accommodation that we stayed at in each place was beautifully situated, generally well appointed and had amazing grounds to go hunting for shots.   The staff at each location were also so helpful and the food was delicious.  And finally, of course, what we were there to photograph was stupendous – from fantastic caterpillars and spiders to colourful lizards, phenomenal frogs and amazing and beautiful birds and mammals including tigers – we really got to see it all. It really was a wonderful trip and I cannot recommend it enough to people!”   Sasha, Hong Kong.

“The Western Ghats and its biodiversity had long been on my eco-destination bucket list. This very small group trip was marvellous. Though a focus for most of our 6 participants was on photography – macro and landscapes, I did my best with an iPhone and binoculars. The small group size meant we could all enjoy everything we saw. And that ranged from elephants to tigers, leopards, invertebrates, frogs and reptiles, as well as extraordinary landscapes, so different from the north of India. A disturbing experience was to witness how lantana and other weeds have invaded forest habitat, making me wonder if their impact on tigers, leopards and their prey could be as serious as poaching. Our leader Bridgette, local guide Hadlee and driver Shibu were so knowledgeable, capable and helpful. Accommodation and food was excellent. Don’t hesitate to join this trip in 2026.”   Martia, Sydney
