The Jungle Treks in Sumatra have several inclines of hundreds of steps to reach the border of the National Park where the Orangutans live. The treks are on a combination of un-even ground, with little or no man-made surfaces, trip hazards and at times slippery mud. Occasionally, to see some wildlife, some hazardous and difficult tracks are followed. The following questions are about your physical ability to handle these pathways.
Do you feel you are capable of completing 200 steps, considering you will be in a tropical climate and carrying all your camera gear?*
Do you consider yourself to be sure-footed? Are you able to navigate through tricky terrain that has natural steps (with large tree roots) as opposed to man-made steps?*
Are you free from any physical ailments that may hinder your ability to walk on slippery surfaces or difficult tracks?*
